Summary

The Technical Business Development Advisor (TBDA) will provide expertise to help expand our strategic partnerships, understand regional markets and drive sales growth. In order to achieve our ambitions, we need TBDAs who can understand technology trends, identify customer needs and provide guidance on establishing and maintaining strong long-term client and partner relationships.

We are seeking TBDAs in support of projected growth within several target regions, including: Southeast Asia, South America and CIS.

Working in collaboration with our smart city technical teams, the TBDA will provide advice on identifying and fostering external relationships, overcoming business development challenges and reviewing technology offerings to improve our sales presentations. The ideal candidate will have a proven technical background in telecommunications, opto-electronics, power systems or information security technology which should also be complemented with experience in international business development focused one one or more of our target regions.

Duties

  • Evaluate the market and competitive landscape and understand the relative strengths and weaknesses of project opportunities and threats that present themselves

  • Identify strategic clients and advise our organization on how to build and maintain strong relationships in the target region

  • Advise project managers on lead generation and engagement strategies

  • Provide input and offer guidance on regional sales and marketing plans

  • Review and provide input on the bid and tender process including price setting and ensure submission of a fully compliant, fit for purpose, competitive bid that meets client expectations

Qualifications

  • B.S. and Graduate Degree (M.S. or PhD) in a related field technical field

  • 10+ years relevant industry experience, incorporating both technical and sales related disciplines

  • Existing relationships with potential clients within the region

  • A strong command of the English language both oral and written, including an ability to communicate and understand complex technical and commercial terms

  • Requisite language skills in a target region (Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese)

  • A team player with experience working in diverse and multi-cultural environments

  • Some international travel may be required
